I was blown away to see our iconic St Kilda Town Hall packed to the rafters last night, with people who care so much about nature and our precious environment.

The significance of this election is not lost on me, nor our responsibility to the future. You have my word that if I’m elected to parliament, I will not squander this moment.
I am as determined today as Bob Brown was back in 1983. And I know that if Labor can win here while expanding gas and coal mines and logging old growth forests, they’ll continue to back down from doing what’s right.
So as I see it, this election is the environment election. It’s the swift parrot election. The east coast koala election. It’s the election for ancient forests, with regnans older than time. It’s the election where I can tell my daughter it’s safe to watch Attenborough again.
A safe future is possible, and you have my word I won’t rest until we have one.
